about me

Hello, I’m Yocelyn Riojas. Hecha en México, raised in Texas.

Yocelyn Riojas is a Mexican-American Creative Strategist, Activist Artist, and cultural organizer from the U.S.–Mexico border. She uses design, storytelling, and art as tools for social change, bridging advocacy and creativity to amplify movements for racial justice, immigrant rights, reproductive freedom, and democracy.
With over a decade of experience in visual communications, she has led national campaigns in creative direction, digital content production, and brand strategy for organizations including NextGen America, Progress Pop, and the Border Artist Society, where she serves as Executive Director. Her work has been featured in protests, museums, and national outlets such as NPR, CBS, and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.
Born in Piedras Negras, Coahuila and raised in Eagle Pass, Texas, Riojas celebrates border culture while addressing systemic issues of inequality, displacement, and resilience. Through illustration, mural work, exhibitions, and digital media, she transforms complex political issues into accessible, community-driven art. She holds an MFA in Communication Design (Social Impact) from Texas State University.
